Redwall Wars Wiki

Introduction[]

War has broken out in Mossflower. A young badger lord has been overwhelmed by power and bloodwrath, and is determined to take Redwall Abbey. While the abbeybeasts feasted, a battalion of hares attacked the beacon of peace. Redwall casualties were high, as no one expected an attack from Salmandastron. Now, four factions are fighting for Mossflower. As a mercanary, who will you join? The fate of Mossflower is in your hands.

The Journal of Lord Stonepaw[]

In this journal, I shall record the ongoing events of the War of Mossflower, as well as my allies and enemies. These are perilous times, and should another beast need to take my place, this tome should instruct them sufficciently that they will understand the War. It was not my fault. Redwall started it when they refused my protection. Since then, I have taken it as my duty to try and wrest it from the greedy paws of the Guoism, The Abbot and the Skipper of Otters. We must win, to protect Mossflower

Factions[]

At the moment, four factions reign: Redwall (or its remnants), Salmandastron, our deseters, and the corsairs.

Redwall[]

The pitful remains of Redwall, have gathered in some unknown base of operations. They have small raids on our camps. Despite our interoggation techniques, our captured Redwallers refuse to speak. They are believed to be quite weak while fighting directly, but the Otters have taught them guerilla combat and the Guoism assist them.

Salmandastron[]

We believe we have the best offensive strength in Mossflower. We will need it, due to the other three factions being opposed to us. Nonetheless, I have confidence that with my officers' and my intellect, combined with our millitary strength will win this war.

The Deserters[]

Our deserters are the largest of our enemies. It has been difficult fighting our fallen brothers, but it is something we must do. They are trained in the same techniques as us, but cling on to outdated concepts such as "honour". You are either breaking the law or you are not. They have poor defenses due to being constantly on the move, and we believe their morale is low.

Corsairs[]

These bumbling idiots tried to exploit our war, and their captain was killed by a lone patrol. They small group has been wandering around, trying to stay out of our way. They need a leader to be dangerous, but that is not likely.

Allies[]

Admiral Branagh[]

  • Name: Admiral Sean Friedrich Branagh
  • Species: Mountain Hare
  • Gender: Male
  • Weaponry: A pace-stick made of polished redwood and a long, beautifully-crafted silver rapier and matching dagger.
  • Clothing: A lime-green uniform covered with medals of past victories, and a gleaming black-leather belt with a silver buckle. He also has a crystal monocle.
  • Appearance: A tall, somber hare in his middle seasons, with gray fur and a pair of elegant mustachios.
  • Personality: Cold, quiet, cool-headed, ambitious. He has sacrificed everything in his search of power, including his only son.
  • Backstory: A once heroic and chivalrous Long Patrol officer who had saved thousands of lives in his lifetime, Branagh soon descended into darkness, thirsting for fame and power like a soulless monster. Many say he became the way he is now because the horrific things he faced in war have finally got to him, snapping something in the once-good hare.
  • Affiliation: Salamandastron
  • Notes: Admiral Branagh is one of my most loyal and trusted friends. He was one of the first to support my campaign, and has always supported me, despite my young age. However, if he was ever to desert me, he would be killed or rejected until he would be forced to return.

Grimear[]

  • Name: Grimear

Gender: Male

Species: Hare

Appearance: "Grimear" is a lean hare of average height with dark gray fur and a paler underside. "Grimear" also has a strange fashion sense. He wears a standard Long Patrol officer's uniform, with several medals pinned to the front of it, but it looks a bit worse for wear. However, the strangest parts of his attire are more likely to be worn by corsairs than a Long Patrol hare. Such articles of clothing consist of a dark blue sash, a black vest worn over his uniform, and a tricorne with a seagull feather pinned in it.

Personality: As his name implies, "Grimear" is quite a solemn beast, and will rarely attempt to behave humorously, save for the occasional dry joke. While he is usually quite a mild-mannered beast, "Grimear" can have quite an unpredictable temper. Another characteristic of "Grimear"'s personality is his independence and spontaneity. Despite having command over an enture crew of hares, it is not uncommon for him to do things himself. "Grimear" also seems to view Long Patrol procedure casually, at least in terms of dress code. While he is a creature of dignity and honor, he is cold when dealing justice to corsairs and searats alike. His mental stability has also been questioned since he returned from a particular mission for the Long Patrol Navy when he was a lower-ranking officer.

Weapons: While armed with a cutlass and a dirk, Grimear is fairly experienced with a lance and is a capable boxer. However, he is not a very skilled archer and is incapable of using heavy weapons efficiently.

History: Largely unknown

Affiliation: Salamandastron

  • Note: He is still bound to his previous beliefs. However, I do not trust him due to his casual treatment of our procedures and his doubtable mental stability. I have placed two spies in his patrol to watch him.

Enemies[]

Lieutenant Malcolm Woodsorrel[]

Name: Malcolm Woodsorrel

Species: Hare

Gender: Male

Weaponry: Two shortswords connected at the hilt, and a dagger.

Clothing: Long patrol uniform, with light armor worn over it.

Appearance: Malcolm is rather thin for a hare, due to his constant travelling and fighting. He looks very similar to his great great grandfather, Tarquin Woodsorrel.

Personality: Normally quite serious, but he has a decent sense of humor. Unfortunately, he has inherited Hon Rosie's laugh.

Background: He was one of the first to oppose me, and is the current leader of the deserters.

Jess Moonsong[]

Name: Jess Moonsong

Species: Squirrel

Gender: Female

Weaponry: A heavy collapsible metal staff

Clothing: A hood with an attached cloak, and then a dull green shirt and trousers that are too big for her.

Appearance: Average height for a squirrel, Jess has red fur and blue eyes. She has a slender build and has several scars across her forearms.

Personality: Kind to her friends, and a good singer, but she can be a loner at times. I put this down to the regrettable death of her parents at Redwall. In battle, she exhibits bloodwrath like traits.

Background: Jess was around sixteen seasons of age when her parents were killed. We believe she was already skilled in fighting with a staff by this time, but she had not acquired the formidable weapon she uses today.

Note: At the moment, despite her skill in fighting, her rage makes her reckless and overly aggressive. Exploiting this may let us kill or capture her.

Valoran MacRyrie[]

Name: Valoran MacRyrie

Nickname: "Blackbrook", he chooses to go by his nickname

Species: River Otter

Gender: Male

Weaponry: Double-bladed claymore and dirk for close range, an air rifle and steel balls for long range

Clothing: He wears a dark green tunic and a green and black plaid belted in both a tartan and kilt. Around his neck is a round silver and emerald medal of valor he got for leading Operation Nyte Strike (see backstory)

Appearance: A tall, muscular otter in his mid-forties, Blackbrook has dark brown fur shading in places to black and dark, pine-green eyes. His body's littered with scars he received in slavery. The most visible one, however, is his facial scar: A long scar starts above the Skipper's right eye, slanting down over the bridge of his nose across his face to stop at his jawline on the left. He has a blood-red tattoo of an attacking pike on his right forearm.

Personality: Normally cool-headed, quick-thinking and quiet. In battle, he's the total opposite, a vicious, battle-hardened warrior. Blackbrook speaks in a heavy Highland accent.

Motto: Death Before Dishonor

Backstory: Spent three seasons before the war began in a slave compound/POW camp in the Northlands run by a wildcat named Bloodshadow. The year the war started, Blackbrook personally organized and led the escape among the slaves. They called the escape and revenge plan  "Operation Nyte Strike." Under his command, the freed slaves avenged every goodbeast who was murdered when they went into slavery, leaving no vermin alive. The Skipper personally struck the killing blow to Bloodshadow. The last thing the cat saw before death took him was the sadistic smirk on the Highlander's face and the last thing he managed to do was lift and swing the dagger he held. . . giving Blackbrook his facial scar.

That same autumn, Blackbrook travelled down to Mossflower and was adopted into Holt Willow, formerly Camp Willow. He rose through the ranks quickly and was finally appointed the new Skipper by Holt Willow's leader.

Position: Skipper of Otters

Affiliation: Redwall the factions.

  • Notes: From our records, Blackbrook is capable of sadistic ruthlessness, which is not a desirable trait. Therefore, we are postponing recruitment attempts until a more desirable or more easily manipulated otter becomes the leader.

Miku Kitsune[]

Name: Miku Kitsune

Gender: Female

Age: 19 seasons/years

Speicies: Fox/Vixen

Occupation: She'll join the Redwallers, though she does want pay, she'll ask for food supply if she ever needs it, a kind of insurance

Weapons: Ninjitsu, a few Ninja smoke bombs (she can make them), and a Dirk. (Now, I know the Ninja weapon is a Katana, but she preffered the smaller choice of a Dirk. It kind of goes to show a bit that she preffers Mossflower over her home in the East)

Appearance: She is a rather short creature, though she's quite lean as well. She is well-muscled, and doesn't have a very feminine figure, but that's not what she cares about.

Personality: Rather quiet and reserved, as expected of a Ninja. She does however, have the ability to make friends and allies, as well as she can make enimies and rivals. She always keeps this in mind as she's associating with someone, so you could say she's not trusting in the beginning of any relationship. She's generally a "good guy", though she'll work for whoever will hire her.

Backround: She was from the East, a place far from Mossflower. The foxes in the East, as they are known to be very trixy and sly characters, were all trained to be Ninjas from the time they were born. The Eastern Fox are all good at what they do, for they are all put through tough training.

After she "graduated", you might say, at the age of 17, she went west, travelling for many seasons to find Mossflower, for it was spoken greatly of in the East; It's climate quite agreeable, the pretty Woodlands and she had even heard of Redwall, though she had no intention of becoming a gentle Woodlander or Redwaller. She's a sort of mercanary, but that doesn't mean she can't be a goodbeast, but she can also be merciless. You'll have to watch out with this one~

  • Notes: These were written by a spy, so we must excuse the slightly casual way it was written. However, it is clear that she could be a worthy ally if we could use the right combination of recourses and guile.

Neutral[]

Emerald Swiftpaw[]

Name: Emerald Swiftpaw

Gender: Female

Age: 17 seasons/years

Species: Ferret

Weapons: Two collapsible shortswords, and a wristbow. She also an above average hand to hand fighter. She is not as good as the hares of Salmandastron at combat, but they would have a hard time defeating her.

Clothing: As shown on the picture at the side, her armor is predominantly blue and grey. This is to help her when sneaking around. She has a navy hood, mask, and cuirass. She has leather gauntlets and boots, which has metal plates riveted on. Underneath, she wears a grey shirt and blue trousers. Note that the blue is supposed to be midnight blue, and the grey would be a very dark grey, despite the lighter colours onthe picture.

E

Appearance: About average height for a ferret of her age. She has brown fur, and a lighter stripe down the front of her body. She has piercing green eyes. She has a lean figure.

Personality: She is generally quite reserved, but can get very angry about subjects that anger her. She does have a moral code of sorts, which means that she doesn't kill people doing their jobs. This rule does not apply to those that, in her opinion, are evil. She is also good with new technology, as her mother was an engineer.

Background: Emerald once lived in Greenwater, a city where foxes, ferrets and rats mingled peacefuly with woodlanders. The peace only lasted for a few generations though. Soon, a civil war broke out. When Emerald was 15 seasons old, her parents were killed. Her father was a captain, so she was already an excellent duelist, but her skills were honed in battle. More often than not though, she was sent on missions to poison food supplies, find infomation, and assassinate leaders. The war disgusted her, and she left Greenwater. She now has her moral code, but she still considers it to be her duty to remove tyrants and the like to atone for what she did during the war. Notes: At the moment, she is unsure who is good or evil at the moment. We can ignore the fact she is vermin for now, but I think the Admiral would agree that she would be a valuable soldier.

Note: The air rifles in the RPG are not modern ones. They are inspired by the Girandoni air rifle, but they are less powerful to balance them with the flintlock weapons.
